Registration is now open for our elementary programs! Our school programs are always free. If providing materials for an activity is a barrier to your participation please reach out as we may be able to support your school.
Let's Talk Science
These one-time, virtual events connect our enthusiastic TMU volunteers with your students in a safe and convenient format. Teachers register using Zoom and project the live event into your classroom.
Every event has a separate registration link and there is no limit to the number of events you can participate in. Please take note of our suggested grade ranges for each event.
Technovation Girls Toronto
Empower the next generation of innovators! This global initiative challenges girls aged 8-18, working in teams with a mentor, to use technology and entrepreneurship to solve real-world problems. Let's Talk Science - Virtual Events |

Mid-Autumn / Moon Festival |
|
Celebrate the Harvest Moon while building STEM skills and exploring space. Learning about phases of the moon, students will use scratch coding to create the Lunar Cycle and explore how it relates to the Moon Festival.

Story to Space: Astronomy, a Cornerstone of African and Caribbean Culture |
|
This virtual event will explore astronomy through the rich traditions of African and Caribbean storytelling. Participants will discover how folktales, like the adventures of Anansi the Spider the clever trickster, can spark curiosity about the universe while building STEM skills.

Halloween Potions |
|
In this live streamed event, students will get to explore chemical reactions through 3 "potions". Two reactions will be demonstrated live by our TMU Science Student volunteers; and the third will be done with your class participating too. (We'll give you a list of simple materials and instructions ahead of time).

Technovation Girls |
 |
|
Technovation Girls allows girls across the world to use technology to solve problems in their lives and their community. While the program is competitive, it encourages girls to collaborate, build community, and reflect on their learning journey.
SciXchange is proud to host the Toronto Chapter for girls ages 8 - 18. Our program launches at Toronto Metropolitan University on November 15. Working in teams, girls will begin workshops in the new year with support from an industry mentor and the SciXchange team.
Please share our Technovation website with families who may be interested in participating. The program is free. |
