Volunteer at the Technovation Girls Pitch Event
Be part of an inspiring day where young innovators present tech solutions to real-world problems. Weβre looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support event operations.
Whether you're interested in event coordination, working with students or capturing content, thereβs a role for you and lunch is provided!
Flexible shifts: Morning, afternoon, or both.
Location: Synechron Canada Inc., 5770 Hurontario St, Mississauga, ON L5R 3G5
Date: Sat. May 2nd, 2026

Science Rendezvous
Saturday, May 9 | 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join the dynamic TMU team who sets up, coordinates and delivers our biggest science event of the year! This free festival, targeted to all age groups, makes science accessible to thousands of people with a day of engaging, informative and interactive events.
Volunteer roles include:
Logistics and behind-the-scenes volunteers (we need the most of these!)
Booth volunteers - facilitate activities
Pocket Science volunteers - roaming scientists
Social Media volunteers
TimingFriday May 8 - set-up in the afternoon
Saturday May 9 - AM shift 9am - 1pm; PM shift 12pm - 4pm
Booth Teams
There are many TMU and external Booth Teams that have already started recruiting volunteers. If you are already part of a Booth team (ex. Physics, Campbell Lab, Urban Water or Psychology) you DO NOT need to sign up here. Please follow instructions you receive from your booth leader(s). SciXchange volunteers are used at the following booths:

Summer Career Boost Positions Open
Join our summer staff team! Our Science Outreach Leads facilitate STEM activities throughout the GTA and on campus with community and camp groups.
To apply:1. Review eligibility and details for the Career Boost Program - we have 2 Domestic and 1 International positions available.
2. If you are eligible, find the "Science Outreach and Communication Student Lead" position posting on the recruitstudents.torontomu.ca website. Follow the instructions for applying.

Β Β Upcoming Opportunities |
|
|
|
The summer is usually quiet for volunteer opportunities, but here are a few you may be interested in:
Chemistry Labs - Help facilitate the TMU-SVU lab for 60+ youth during a full day of programming - Thursdays in May
Soapbox Science Social Media - support promotion of our annual women and non-binary researchers in STEM event, which happens in Sept.
Community After-School Programs - We'll continue to offer STEM activities for youth during after-school programs in May and June.
